The project:
I transformed an old ugly table into a fabulous piece of furniture by tiling, adding a timber boarder and staining the old legs. Now it looks fresh and fantastic..its been given a whole new lease of life.
- Materials:
Sugar soap, sand paper, tiling glue, tiling grout, hardwood timber,tiles, wood glue, screws, timber stain.
- Tools:
Circular Saw, tiling trowels, sander, electric drill,paint brush and paint tray.
- Step 1:
- I washed the table and timber legs with sugar soap
2.Sanded the concrete and timber legs with electric sander then cleaned again.
3. Measured up witb tape measure and lead pencil and used glue with a trowel to spead glue Applied tiles and used spacers to create even spacing.
4.Removed spacers when dry and used another trowel to push grout into the space between tiles. Wiped clean.
5. Cut hard wood into lengths using circular saw to create exact measurements..45degree mitre joints on corners
6.Glued and screwed timber using drill to concrete table top.
Sanded timber and cleaned again.
7. Used cabots stain sealer to colour and protect timber edges and legs.
8. Put pictures on my Facebook page..everyone responded so I thought I would enter the competition.
