The project:

I transformed a plain pantry wall into a colourful feature using bold geometric shapes inspired by modern Scandinavian design. The nature-inspired colour palette brings warmth and personality to an otherwise blank space, creating a simple yet striking focal point. This affordable DIY shows how a fresh coat of paint can completely transform the look. The design has also been planned with future functionality in mind, with timber shelves to be added later for practical storage while maintaining the clean, modern aesthetic.

- Materials:

British paints sample paint pots

Paint brush

Paint roller

Sugar soap

- Tools:

Construction pencil, levelling tool, masking tape

- Step 1:

Cleaned the wall with sugar soap

- Step 2:

drew the main shapes using a pencil and used my level for long lines.

- Step 3:

Painted the main shapes using the sample pots and left to dry for 2-3 hours before second coat

- Step 4:

Painted the secondary small overlapping shapes and left to dry for 2-3 hours before second coat

- Step 5:

drew the leaves, birds and free hand shapes using brush and left for drying

What a creative way to add some personality to your walk-in pantry. The combination of geometric shapes and the nature-inspired details gives the space a really unique look, and I like that you've planned the design around adding timber shelving later on.

Was it difficult getting the lines so crisp, and do you have any tips for others looking to create a similar painted feature wall?
