Barn door using treated Pine palings

The project:

I wanted to have the bedroom close off from day room and keep noise, light and dog out. Was my first ever attempt have made 3 since

- Materials:

900mm internal door, treated pine palings, black bolts, upholstery pins, latch, different stains and acrylics, ikonic barn door rolled bar…everything from bunnings

- Tools:

all Ryobi, circular saw, jigsaw, sander, paint brush, sponges, drill

- Step 1:

measured out pailings for door

- Step 2:

screwed them and glued them too door

- Step 3:

stained the timber

- Step 4:

added features of pins and bolts

- Step 5:

attached skirting board piece for strength above the wall and added bar

- Step 6:

attached rollers too door

- Step 7:

hung door

Your first attempt turned out brilliantly, and it's easy to see why you've gone on to build more. The rustic timber finish gives the barn door plenty of character, while the black hardware creates a timeless contrast that really stands out. It's a practical addition that also adds warmth and style to the room, and it's great to see your craftsmanship and confidence grow with each project.
