The project:
We had an old laminated front door where the laminate was peeling and stain was discoloured. It had dated pineapple decorative inserts. We purchased a cheap colonial secondhand door from marketplace.. we removed the shelf cleaned up the glass sanded back hardware and painted with suit the inside of our house. We then found some pallets and cut sanded them and painted and to make them into a front screen door which we just added screen door hardware.
- Materials:
sandpaper, paint, paint brushes, Patti, frog tape, fibreglass mesh, door, hardware, hinges, screws, door closer, spray paint.
- Tools:
sanding block, sander paint brushe, ozito battery drill.
- Step 1:
purchased a secondhand door from marketplace removed all the trims and hardware. Send it back to Timber and cut down to size to fit existing opening. Painted with two colours multiple times. Polished all the hardware and fitted to the door including hinges. fitted the door and checked out the door jam to suit all the hardware.
- Step 2:
find some secondhand oversize pallets. created a diagram for a front screen door to fit existing opening. Sanded all the pallet pieces and cut to size. Biscuit glued and screwed all the pieces together to make the screen door checked out hinges and door lock opening.. painted the door fitted fibreglass mesh. Fitted the door to the frame.
