Table top from scrap timber

The project:

Using up a pile of old scrapy timber and bring it back to life with some elbow grease.

- Materials:

Bench saw, biscuit machine, clamps and glue, Jigsaw for circle cut and then a lot of plaining and sanding. Finished with a coat of Carbot clear gloss.

- Tools:

Timber was sourced from scrap heap. Everything else was purchased at the Toolshops of Bibra lake and Collier Rd Morley Bunnings.

Hi @GregOwens,

What a fantastic way to give old timber a second life. It's hard to believe this tabletop started as a pile of scrap. The mix of timber species and grain creates a really unique finish, and the round shape works beautifully.

I'm sure our members would love to hear a bit more about the process. Did you run into any challenges when joining together timber that had already seen a previous life? Also, approximately how long did the project take from start to finish?
