The project:
Our custom-built cat enclosure frame was built by a local builder, I told him what I wanted and he had this frame up in no time. The rest is all us. We designed it to keep
our rescue cats, who were found dumped in a box as newborns, all bottle fed and hand raised, safe while giving them plenty of space to climb, explore and relax. Inside you'll find multiple wall-mounted shelves, climbing platforms, ramps, cozy sleeping spots, scratching areas and enrichment features that encourage natural behaviours. Every addition has been carefully planned to create a stimulating environment where our cats can play, perch, nap and watch
the world go by—all while staying safe and happy.

- Step 1:
The shelves were planned to create safe pathways throughout the enclosure, allowing the cats to climb, jump and move between different levels. We measured the available wall space, marked the positions to ensure comfortable distances between each shelf, then securely fixed heavy-duty brackets into the enclosure frame. Timber shelves were attached, checked for stability and sanded to remove any rough edges. We gradually added more platforms and varied the heights to provide enrichment, exercise and multiple resting areas for the cats.
This was a labor of love, we find ourselves constantly trying to improve it and you will find us at bunnings nearly every Saturday morning at 7am to have a look

Constantly asking for advice when we arrived at Bunnings. The staff at the Narellan store went above and beyond. No question was silly, they answered and helped us in every way. Shout out to the guys in the timber section, they were great.
