Backyard makeover with fire pit and garden lighting

The project:

We transformed our plain backyard into a modern, low-maintenance entertaining space, creating a fire pit area with built-in seating, white gravel, garden lighting, and landscaped surrounds. Almost every part of this project was completed ourselves using products from Bunnings, proving you don’t need a huge budget to create a beautiful outdoor retreat. The result is a functional space where our family can relax, entertain friends, and enjoy evenings together all year round.

Galv interlock edging, Ekodeck, timber, screws, click solar lights , large Tuscan path pots, fire pit.

- Step 1:

1. Planned and measured the layout for the entertaining area and fire pit.
2. Cleared, levelled and prepared the site.
3. Built the seating frame.
4. Cut and installed all the timber and Ekodeck decking for the built-in seating.
5. Installed edging and prepared the base for the gravel.
6. Spread and levelled the white gravel throughout the entertaining area.
7. Positioned and installed the fire pit.
8. Installed the pathway and seating lighting.
9. Repaired and painted the back fence.
10. Added the pots, feature trees and completed the lawn for a clean, low-maintenance finish.

You've created a modern, inviting entertaining area that looks like the perfect place to gather with family and friends. The combination of the built-in seating, white gravel, lighting and landscaping all works really well together.

If you have them, we'd love to see some before photos and a few construction shots from along the way. I'm sure other members would enjoy seeing how the space evolved, particularly how you built the seating and prepared the gravel base.
