Privacy screen with firepit area covering old spa

The project:

We turned our old inground spa area into the perfect private chillout spot by adding privacy screening and a firepit

- Materials:

Walpix perforated aluminium screens with native Australian plant design, aluminium slats. Solar powered fairy lights behind them to light them up, pine bark mulch, rainbow stone, lots of plants, rust edging for the round fire pit

- Tools:

ryobi drill, hired compactor, ground leveler, level, rivet gun, paving leveller

- Step 1:

Cleared out the spa and raised the ground level with road base to allow for an extra step. Covered the broad base in bluestone for the paving and painstakingly friend to get the correct level. We then paced and used Bunnings compactor to level out our pavers

- Step 2:

concreted posts in to hold the back panelled wall and ran horizontal aluminium posts to attach the panels to. We riveted the panels on, added the slat wall to the sides and hung lights to the back of the panels

- Step 3:

we added the rust edging in a circular shape and placed down weed matting before adding the rainbow stones

You've done an absolutely fantastic job here. The difference between the before and after shots is night and day.

The bluestone pavers look fantastic with the red hues from the corten steel edging and the slatted fencing panels.

The garden bed also looks refreshed with some new mulch and adds a lovely touch of life and colour to a fantastic space.

I imagine this is the perfect spot to sit back and relax around the fire and I hope it is getting plenty of use over the cold winter nights.
