Garden studio potting shed

The project:

My partner wanted somewhere to store her gardening gear but also somewhere where you can sit and enjoy a coffee or a wine.

- Materials:

Recycled stumps, weatherboards, Leadlight windows and door.
90 x45 treated pine for the walls and roof trusses.
Particle board flooring sheets.
Polycarbonate roofing sheets.

- Tools:

Makita 18v cordless drill, circular saw, screw gun, Orbital sander.

Laser level

Spirit level

Cordless framing gun.
Mitre saw

- Step 1:

Cleared area and marked out stump holes.
Levelled stumps and concreted them in.

- Step 2:

Built sub floor

- Step 3:

Built and stood walls

- Step 4:

Build and install roof trusses

- Step 5:

Install roofing and guttering

- Step 6:

Frame and install Leadlight windows

- Step 7:

Install weatherboards

- Step 8:

Install door, window trim, roof trim

- Step 9:

Connect down pipe to water tank

- Step 10:

Build steps and paint inside and out.

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @falcon09, it is fantastic to have you with us.

This is definitely much more than a storage shed. The leadlight windows, weatherboards and recycled door give it the character of a little garden cottage, while the clear roofing will keep the interior nice and bright.

It’s also a great touch connecting the downpipe to a water tank, especially for a space dedicated to gardening. Your partner now has somewhere practical for tools and potting, as well as a quiet spot to sit back with a coffee or wine.
