We used wooden pellets screwed together to support a 1000L IBC tank that was cut in half and supported with metal. We then used fence palings and plastic garden trellis to build a bird proof cover. Inside the pond has plants, pots, rocks, soil and sand.

put IBC tank on top of pallets
set up canister filter and attach to end of tank
measure out tank dimensions
cut wood for front and 2 sides on the top and side, leaving the back empty for the filter to sit on.
So 3 sided frame with the back supported by a pale across to hold up the plastic trellis
assemble frame with wood screws
Flip upside down and use spare wood to sandwich the plastic trellis between the frame and spare wood
assemble pots in this order
Bottom
Rocks
Sand
Soil
Plant
Put pots inside the tank
spread spare rocks and sand on the floor of the tank
fill up pond 3/4 of the way full, around 360L of water full
add water heater to filter
Add water conditioner
let circulate for a few days
Put turtle in pond
Put frame on

What a creative way to build a secure and practical turtle pond. Reusing an IBC tank and pallets has created a sturdy base, while the timber paling surround gives the pond a much more finished appearance.
The bird-proof trellis cover is a thoughtful addition, and the mix of aquatic plants, pots, sand and decorative stones has created a nice environment for your turtle.
