The project:
Having lived with drab white painted walls and white roller blinds the last 10 years I decided it was finally time for a 2026 bedroom interior upgrade! My project goal was for my bedroom to FEEL more restful, calming and serene, both day and night. North facing windows and a balcony door bring in natural light. Therefore I could afford to use a cosier paint shade to make the room feel more like a sanctuary, so I opted for a green/grey colour - Dulux Silvergrass. A somewhat subtle but VERY dramatic makeover. I LOVE IT!.
- Materials:
Dulux Silvergrass iin half strength on the plaster walls and brickwork and Silvergrass half strength in a semigloss for the wardrobe doors, bedroom door and window trims.
Bunnings Brilliant Lighting DIY pendant light shade in 30cm in Ecru.
Linen look fabric tab curtains attached as high as possible to ceiling with Bunnings curtain rods and brackets in brushed chrome.
- Tools:
Paint rollers and brushes from Paint department as well as sandpaper and filler.
Power drill and wall screws.
- Step 1:
I chose my paint colour and prepped all areas to be painted.
- Step 2:
I secured all curtain rods to walls with brackets and hung the curtains.
- Step 3:
I removed my old pendant light fitting and attached the DIY shade. Very easy to do. So cheap! So effective!
