The project:
Space is a premium in any home workshop and I wanted to maximise the amount of tool hanging space on this wall that has a window. My solution was to create two sliding doors to cover the tools while not in use, but then as the system unfolds the space in front of the window is also useable.

Various screws and fixings
- Step 1:
I replaced the old bench top with melamine to improve the surface and then constructed the shelving frame work out of 18mm ply
- Step 2:
the sliding mechanism was built and then the white doors were installed, they are actually a spare interior door cut in half. This then exposes the hinged tool boards.
- Step 3:
The tricky bit was creating the hinged tool boards, there was a bit of trial and error to get this to work and store away properly.
old hedge trimmer blades and chain were used to create the tool hangers.
- Step 4:
the far right door then opens to reveal the last tool hangers, this hinged part doubles the tool space of this cabinet
- Step 5:
