Laundry conversion into wet bar

The project:

Conversation of a European laundry to a wet bar including concealed laundry appliances

- Materials:

Kaboodal 3 draw cabinet (600 mm)

Kaboodal base cabinet (400 mm)

2.4x1.2 sheet of malimine

Stainless Steel basin

- Step 1:

Removal of existing doors cabinets and laundry basin.

Installion of bar fridge and dividing malemine wall for appliances.

Installation of Kaboodal base cabinet and 3 draw cabinet

- Step 2:

Installation of benchtop and splashback, floor tiles, which were almost a perfect match for the benchtop (Calcutta marble look)

- Step 3:

Installation of the futed rear wall and display units.

- Step 4:

Installation of sink and tapware

- Step 5:

The completed conversion works really well, the appliances are well vented into wall cavities and there is a 300 air gap behind the refrigerator and cabinets for access to washing machine inlet and outlet pipes, refrigerator easily slides out for access and inspection.

Looking at that first image, you would never guess this space still functions as a laundry. Concealing the appliances behind custom cabinetry while turning the room into a proper wet bar is a very smart use of a compact area.

The fluted wall, illuminated display shelves and marble-look finishes give it a completely different identity, but the practical details are just as impressive. Allowing space for ventilation and making sure the plumbing remains accessible shows that the conversion was carefully thought through.

A very inventive result that delivers two useful spaces in one.
