Kitchen renovation using Kaboodle

The project:

We moved into a house we recently bought, the only thing we hated was the dark small kitchen that felt closed in. We wanted to open the space and lighten the kitchen to not just feel open but provide a more usable welcoming space.

- Materials:

kaboodle wall and base cabinets. Custom ordered glass and solid kaboodle doors. Kaboodle benchtop. Door handles subway tiles 12mm mdf. Merbau bench top. Sink and taps. Paint, brushes, liquid nails, sanding blocks etc. All from Bunnings.

- Tools:

Ozito drill, dewalt laser, dewalt circular saw, spirit level. Tape measure.

- Step 1:

• Remove old window and install new one, insulate walls, replaster, remove old flooring and sand/oil original floor boards..
• Ordered benchtop at Bunnings and bought cabinets, made all flat pack cabinets
• Level and install base cabinets
• Installed benchtop
• Installed overhead cabinets and appliances
• Cutout sink and installed
• Tile and grouted walls
• Cut and install bulkheads
• Install island bench
• Install all doors, hardware and trims

- Step 2:

Hire professional electrician and plumbers.

This is a fantastic improvement, @Meru. Opening up the room, restoring the original floorboards and using light Kaboodle cabinetry has completely changed the feel of the kitchen.

You have turned a dark, enclosed kitchen into a space that looks much better suited to everyday family life.

I also love how you made use of the space between those structural posts, turning a tricky spot into a feature by fitting it out with cabinets and a beautiful merbau benchtop.
