The project:

had a patio already off bedroom with sliding doors took the doors out and closed in to make a walk in robe with entry each side of original door to bedroom and making a new wall where door was

Cupboards for robe and new sheeting on new wall painting tiling and adding shutters to each end

- Materials:

fibro weatherboards for outside shutters tiles cupboards tiles wall panelling arcatraves skirting paint lighting leveling concrete blue paper

Cupboard flat packs from Bunnings

Partical board for flooring under tiles

- Tools:

saw hammers drills nails screws tile glue paint power saw level

- Step 1:

stud outside wall and nogging then closed in side walls and added shutters place the blue building paper around

Closed outside wall with weatherboards closed end walls in

Sheeted inside walls then painted

Tiled floor

Added cupboards and got electrical done

Sheeted the wall behind bed and did arcatraves and skirting

This is a clever way to gain a walk-in robe without sacrificing space inside the bedroom, @Ulaweir123. Enclosing the existing patio and creating access on both sides of the bed makes the new layout feel well integrated.

The shutters, tiled floor and fitted cupboards give the extension a finished look, while the new wall panelling behind the bed helps tie the whole room together.

A very practical transformation that has added valuable storage and made excellent use of an existing area.
