We found a vintage cedar front door that was a Hampton style, selling for $100. It was so much less than a new one. A little elbow grease, paint stripper, sandpaper, and the door was coming back to life. Primer, fresh coat of paint and new handles/locks…looks like new and brings so much light into the space! Goes great with the new board and batten look!

Finding the door was a process. We had a few that we found that were too damaged, but then this one was perfect. It needed a bit of love to be brought back to life.
Stripping the paint was not an easy task. It took a lot of hours and lots of scrapping to get the door down to its original wood
Here it is stripped back to the original wood on the other side
Then it was time to put on the primer, giving a hint at the final look.
Then it was time to see the Night Sky on the front door too
Took some time to get it hung properly but it definitely finished off the front of the house nicely. And the frosted window panes bring so much light into the house.
The Night Sky finish looks fantastic against the board-and-batten exterior, @sohnlefamily.
Restoring a vintage door was a clever way to add character to the front of your home.
