The project:
From tatty looking ready for the tip to a bright, colourful and happy table and chairs set.
My inspiration was vintage crockery with bright flowers and weird birds.
After sanding i gave everything a couple of coats of white paint. Then drew on my designs before adding lots of colour. Finally everything got black outlines.
Plan was to add varnish but a bad fall while painting these slowed me down so next payday another trip to bunnings for spray on varnish.
My grandkids love how bright and colourful these are and cant wait to sit on them.
- Materials:
Sandpaper roll, assortment of paint brushes, painters tape, white paint plus a bunch of colourful sample pots, felt pads for the bottoms, mini bunnings buckets to keep my brushes in, and a couple of microfibre cloths for cleanups.
Spray on varnish will be next
- Tools:
Elbow grease, paint brushes, sand paper
- Step 1:
Sand back all the wooden parts, rolling sandpaper to get into creases around spindles
- Step 2:
A couple of coats of white paint
- Step 3:
Draw design flowers and bird onto seat with pencil
- Step 4:
Paint everything as bright and colourful as possible
