Dining area painted dark green

The project:

Wanted to give the dining area a dark coat of paint to draw attention to the garden outside. We also painted the trim in order to make the room feel taller.

- Materials:

Tint Primer

Paint

Masking Tape

- Tools:

Paintbrushes

- Step 1:

Typical first step, clear the space and tape off the windows/ceiling. Also made sure that the line going up the wall was as straight as possible to ensure a clean edge.

- Step 2:

First coat was a tinted primer, excellent recommendation from the bunnings paint crew.

- Step 3:

Only 2 coats of paint needed thanks to the tinted primer. Once the paint dried, removed the tape, refurnished the room and voila. The mustard yellow curtains were a perfect contrast for the space.

The dark green walls create a beautiful backdrop and really draw your eye towards the garden, just as you intended. Painting the trim the same colour was also a great choice, giving the room a more cohesive feel, and the mustard curtains provide a fantastic pop of contrast.
