The project:
We moved our laundry into an old porch space to create a second bathroom. Now the colour scheme, ample storage, usability and location of the laundry has made it one of our favourite rooms in the house.
- Materials:
framing timber, nails, screws, insulation, plaster glue, plaster, tile glue, floor and wall tiles, grout, custom cabinetry, architrave, custom window, primer, hole filler, dulux natural white paint, down lights, PowerPoints, sink, tap, plumbing pipes, no more gaps, silicone
- Tools:
crow bar, hammer, nail guns, dust masks, spacers, makita multitool, drop saw, angle grinder, bucket, ladder, paint brush and roller, silicone gun, sponge, drill, trowel, cloths, painters tape, vacuum, light, step ladder, sander and sanding pads, level, string line, measuring tape, pencil,
- Step 1:
Demolition of the old space
- Step 2:
Replaced the window. blocked two doorways and reframed
- Step 3:
plumber and electrician roughed in and we insulated and put in plaster
- Step 4:
Cabinetry and bench tops were installed
- Step 5:
Floors and splashback were waterproofed and tiled
- Step 6:
Tiles grouted. Plumber and electrician fit off
- Step 7:
painting done, followed by silicone and no more gaps
- Step 8:
install washer, drier, clean and style
