The project:
We transformed our basic, wire-shelved walk-in wardrobe into a stylish, functional storage space using IKEA cabinets. We designed the layout to maximise every centimetre, adding drawers, open shelving, shoe storage, hanging space and an integrated laundry hamper. We wanted a clean, organised space that was practical for everyday life while giving the room a high-end, built-in look. As this was our first DIY project, we were excited to take on the challenge. By customising the design with a self-built corner shelf and hanging space, we created a personalised wardrobe that maximised the space and better suited our needs.

- Step 1:
We removed the skirting boards and wire hanging rack and shelf.
- Step 2:
We cut plywood to fit in the empty space where the carpet ended.
- Step 3:
We built and constructed the cabnets, shelves and draws, cutting a hole for the PowerPoint.
- Step 4:
We then made a shelf from plywood for the corner, cut and installed the hanging rod. We also cut and put the skirting boards back in.
- Step 5:
Painted and did the finishing touches.
