The project:
We took an old, broken fireplace and built out the frame to have an electric fireplace + wall mounted TV to transform our living room. We refreshed the window frames with some painting and caulking, painted the whole space and added some sheer curtains, and now it’s a brand new space.

hammer + mallet
- Step 1:
Built out the frame for the TV and added a nook for the PowerPoints and cords.
- Step 2:
Run the electrical (we have a licensed electrician in the household!)
Then cut and add the fire-safe sheets
- Step 3:
insert the fireplace in the nook and hang the tv to make sure they fit!
- Step 4:
render the fireplace (done by a professional)
- Step 5:
Caulk and paint the windows, walls and new fireplace (and then gap fill the holes and paint the bits you missed😂)
- Step 6:
add some blinds and sheers and you have a new space!
