70s country kitchen makeover using Kaboodle

The project:

Replace old 70s kitchen with modern country style theme with a Kaboodle kitchen! Redesign whole new kitchen with existing space by technical drawing including new under bench electric oven and large gas cooktop. Include a dishwasher, a double sink, pantry, microwave shelf, overhead wine and bottle racks, extra cupboards, customised shelving and cabinets including more bench space. Splashback and feature tiles. Replaced old vinyl flooring with new Hanwood special order "Reclaimed white design laminate flooring" through Bunnings.

- Step 1:

1. Dismantle old cupboards, benchtops and fixtures
2. Measure up area to accommodate new design including cutting out servery window in wall above gas cooktop.
3. Remove old vinyl flooring and lay down new foam underlay for new laminate flooring
4. Remove gas line and pipes for plumbing for water lines.
5. Assemble and install Kaboodle flatpack cabinets and install benchtops.
6. Mark and cut out kitchen sink and cooktop
7. Install gas and plumbing fittings.
8. Install feature tile and splashback tile
9. Install overhead cabinets and shelving
10. Electrician installed power points, dishwasher, oven, overhead fan and kitchen tracking lights.

The new layout is a huge improvement, with considerably more bench space and storage with modern appliances adding modern convenience.

The smoked oak benchtops, mosaic feature tiles and new flooring work beautifully together while retaining plenty of warmth and character.
