The project:
Transforming a neglected garden into a haven for both children and adults alike. We wanted a space where children could play and the grownups could relax spending time together and making wonderful memories in our back garden.
- Materials:
shapescaper edging, travertine pavers, zoysia Australis turf, woodchip, sand, roadbase, bedding gravel, organic soil, turf underlay
- Tools:
shovel, wheelbarrow, rake,ryobi angle grinder, plate compactor, hand compactor, rubber mallet, hammer, chisel, wobble sprinkler,
- Step 1:
defoliate and re level whole garden
- Step 2:
section off each area with edging- border, trampoline area, kids play area, path and raised paving area
- Step 3:
lay roadbase and compact with plate compactor add bedding sand and lay pavers cutting with angle grinder as required
- Step 4:
turf underlay, level and lay turf
- Step 5:
lay kids area softfall mulch
- Step 6:
build kids trampoline and ninja park
- Step 7:
plant edging plants and build raised vege patch
- Step 8:
paint house and deck
- Step 9:
to complete the project - further edging plants, edging mulch, firepit and furniture on raised area, screening panelling under house and deck
