Subway tiles kitchen splashback

The project:

we wanted a splashback that was simple, timeless and easy to live with. the white subway tiles brighten the kitchen,complement the dark cabinetry and create I clean modern look without going out of style. we're really happy with how it finished and how it ties into the whole kitchen together.

- Materials:

practa solutions ceramic wall tiles 300 by 100 sub

wedge slippage system

dunlop premixed mastic tile adhesive

dunlop grout

dunlop silicone

- Tools:

1200 level

angle grinder

Notch trial

grout sponge

plastic bucket

microfibre

- Step 1:

remove old vinyl planks clean up and make way for new tiles

install high-level line around kitchen to make a starting point

roughly marked wall with new tiles to make sure pattern would work

started tiling and adding wedge system as I went along

came in approximately half tile to start the brick pattern and wedges as I went

using the wedge system I could level the tiles out as the pattern go to the desired height

clean down tiles with hot soapy water to remove any of the access glue once it was dry

installed grout using grout sponge to put grout in joints clean down grout of tiles

PowerPoint to new locations so I would work with the new layout with the tiles

silicon up all remaining joints were needed with colour match grout

cleaned up and position everything back where are used to be

You can never go wrong with classic white subway tiles. They brighten the space beautifully, complement the dark cabinetry and create a timeless look that will suit the kitchen for years to come. The brick pattern and neat finish really complete the renovation.
