With our first child on the way we needed to redo our outdoor patio space to make it safer and a lot more functional. The original area was last done in the 70's, the pavers were cracked, the path through to the garden was narrow and overgrown and there were awkward slopes everywhere. The new space is fresh, way bigger and flows seamlessly from our back stairs past a new retaining wall to the side of the house. Still a little bit to do, but we'll be firing up the bbq soon!
Demolition, excavation, ground prep and levelling for a new concrete path and retaining wall.
Ground works in preparation for paving, small deck landing platform at the bottom of the back stairs and new timber retaining wall steps up to grass area
Enjoy! I'd like to build a picnic bench and add a pizza oven (soon haha)
Hello @myprojectresto
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your backyard renovation project.
Congratulations on your growing family! This is such a thoughtful transformation, and it's easy to see how much planning went into creating a space that's both beautiful and practical. The wide paved pathways, gentle transitions and clean landscaping give the backyard a wonderful sense of flow, while the neatly trimmed hedges and warm timber details make it feel so welcoming. It looks like the perfect place for family barbecues, little adventures and making special memories together. Wishing you all the best as you enjoy this fantastic new outdoor space with your little one.
Thank you for sharing this wonderful project with the community.
