Green rendered outdoor party bench

The project:

A steel-framed modular couch found on the side of the road was screaming "I HAVE POTENTIAL!". Breathing a new life into its torn upholstery, we decided to visit Bunnings and render the whole thing! With some mesh reinforcing, three coats of lime-concrete render with green oxide and sealed off with concrete pavement sealer, we have created a large, unique area perfect for BBQ's and entertaining!

Cement mixer (purchased long ago)

- Step 1:

*1 Joined modular chair pieces together with screws and mesh

- Step 2:

*2 contoured mesh around curves and every surface of bench

- Step 3:

*3 Apply base/scratch coat of concrete lime render

- Step 4:

*4 Apply second coat of cement lime render

- Step 5:

*5 Apply third coat of cement lime render

- Step 6:

*6 apply coats of concrete sealer

- Step 7:

*7 Test to see if chairs are comfortable and ready for entertaining!

This has got be one of the most unique upcycling projects I've ever seen! I love the creativity behind transforming a roadside find into such a striking outdoor feature. The sculpted organic shape, earthy green finish and beautiful paved setting make it feel like it has always belonged in the garden. It's a fantastic conversation piece that's as practical as it is artistic, creating the perfect spot to gather with family and friends.

Thank you for sharing the progress photos, they really showcase the imagination, skill and craftsmanship that brought this one-of-a-kind project to life.
