I completed a budget-friendly, rental bathroom makeover! Since I’m renting, I needed a fully reversible transformation that's easy to remove when moving out. I used peel-and-stick tiles for both the walls and the floor. To keep costs minimal, I bought the basin for a low price on Marketplace, and I scored the timber vanity for free on Marketplace and upcycled/restored it myself!

Step 1: Apply paint stripper to the timber vanity cabinet and wait 30 minutes.
Step 2: Scrape off and remove the old finish from the vanity.
Step 3: Sand the timber cabinet smooth.
Step 4: Apply the varnish and immediately wipe off the excess with a cloth before it dries.
Step 5: Sand lightly with ultra-fine sandpaper between coats.
Step 6: Apply a second coat of varnish and wipe off the excess again, then let it dry.
TILES
Step 7: Clean all wall and floor surfaces thoroughly before applying the tiles.
Step 8: Apply the peel-and-stick tiles to the walls and floor.
Step 9: Install the vanity cabinet and Marketplace basin.
Step 10: Seal all necessary edges with silicone for a clean finish.
