Pine timber kitchen island

The project:

Living in a small home, my partner found it hard to find an island bench that would fit in the space while also providing enough storage. So instead she headed to Bunnings and made this all purpose island bench. Making storage, seating and bench space.

- Materials:

Pine, varnish, nails, mdf board, green paint, grout

- Tools:

Drill, tape measure, hammer

- Step 1:

Make a plan and collect materials

- Step 2:

Measure wood and take back to Bunnings to cut.

- Step 3:

Drill all parts together and attach countertop

- Step 4:

Prep for paint, varnish and tile

What a great solution for making the most of a smaller kitchen. Combining extra storage, seating and bench space into one piece of furniture is a smart idea, and the finished island looks right at home in the space.
