The project:
I needed a safe but also moveable space to be able to house my four chickens. I repurposed an old steel bunk bed into a Chicken Tractor. By enclosing the frame with chicken wire and detaching the stairs, then reattaching the stairs for a base for the nesting boxes. Then enclosing the nesting boxes with ply and screwing a hinge on top to open for collection of eggs each day. My chickens now have a safe enclosed space to eat fresh grass each day as I wheel them around my yard.

- Step 1:
- Wrap the frame in chicken wire
- cut plywood to size for nesting boxes
- Paint boxes in outdoor paint
- Cut Lysart for the roof of the nesting boxes
- Cut plywood lid for attaching later with piano hinge
- Cut Lysart for the weather protection of the nesting box opening
- Use self tapping screws to attach the plywood boxes to the frame
- Use self tapping screws to attach the Lysart to the roof to keep out rain
- Use cable ties to attach the nesting boxes lid to the roof
- wrap the door in chicken wire
- Attach door with cable ties
- Attach brace for wheels
- Attach a wheel for each side
- Optional buying feeder and water and wiring it to the front door
