Not sure which is the best option here. I removed some tiles at the bottom of the bathroom and had to remove the cement by cutting out the pasterboard. Im going to use james hardie 7.5mm groove board to go from the tile floor to about 1100m height with the dado rail. Clearly the boards will cover the cut piece as it will go all the way to the floor. The issue Ive had is using packers to help give some support at the bottom where the plaster board has been removed.
I tradie friend suggested running a 11mm board along the noggins but the issue is that when I see if its square it pushes out at the bottom. It might be a bit hard to plane it down but any suggestions? I was thinking of ripping the 11mm board down to 9mm which I think would be the right thickness. I used the 42 x 11mm H3 treated pine FJ DAR primed LOSP. I was also thinking plywood as well as an alternative.
Ive attached pics and hopefully that explains it. You can see the long 11mm board I was going to run along the noggins to support the board.
Do think its best to try and rip it down to 9mm and treat or have other ideas?
Any amazing advice for this amature.
