To start for best adhesion we pressure washed the slab in the morning then measured up length of sides we needed pavers for, we wrote a supplies list then we then went to Bunnings to collect all items from the lists above.
When we returned we then dry fit the pavers around the border. After dry fitting the pavers we then mixed up the Davco Tile adhesive. We used a bucket and ryobi drill and mixing attachment to make this easy. We then used the pointing trowel to put this on the concrete and the pavers one by one then smoothed both sections with the notched trowel. We completed this in about an hour using a level as we went to keep everything level.
This then set overnight and the next morning we pressure washed the extra adhesive off the pavers and also use the attachments to actually push out some grout at the bottom of some joints to act as drainage holes. This is very important so water trapped can drain away.
We then poured the drainage gravel bags x10 into the area smoothing this out with the back of a metal rake, then added the 10x bags of decomposed granite on top smoothing this out with the back of a metal rake and flattening with a shovel.
We then placed a large paver we had at home already but easily available at Bunnings (I have linked similar above) and our fire pit on top (also one we had at home but available at Bunnings). We then added our armchairs and filled the fire pit up with wood to relax and enjoy our weekend project!

You've made excellent use of an existing concrete slab to create a clean, inviting outdoor space. The charcoal paver border gives the area a really neat finish, and the combination of drainage gravel and decomposed granite creates a practical, low-maintenance surface that suits the fire pit perfectly. It's also great to see you included drainage holes between some of the pavers to help prevent water from becoming trapped beneath the surface.
I imagine you'll be spending plenty of evenings out there enjoying a fire with family and friends.
