hi, I have a Caroma old Colonial toilet and need to replace the dual flushing mechanism, valves and all. Any ideas? Because I can’t find the parts anywhere , may be in the US. would a universal dual mechanism work?
Thanks for your help
Hi @safrana18
Is it possible that they have just redesigned it, see here
Edited to add see the 750299 which it states is for colonial toilets.
Hello @safrana18
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your Caroma toilet suite.
Please note that plumbing work needs to be completed by a licensed professional for safety and compliance.
A possible replacement part for the flushing mechanism is the https://www.bunnings.com.au/fix-a-loo-thunderflush-dual-flush-cistern-outlet-valve_p4790780 . This is suitable for Caroma/Fowler vitreous china cisterns and Sovereign, Viceroy units from 1982-1995 as stated in the packaging. For the filling valve, I suggest looking at the https://www.bunnings.com.au/fluidmaster-bottom-entry-toilet-inlet-valve_p4926949 . Please remember that these parts must be verified for compatibility and installed by a licensed plumber.
However, if the parts are not compatible with the colonial toilet suite. I suggest replacing the whole toilet set with a new one. Any changes that involve moving or reconfiguring pipework would be considered regulated plumbing work and would need to be carried out by a licensed plumber.
I also suggest checking out the stores Toilet Installation Service. Especially if you are looking for a professional to replace your toilet suite.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.
