Dewalt DCS391N-XE saw came with 16mm bore

I brought a dewalt saw ( DCS391 skin only ) and everywhere claims it comes with a native 20 mm bore, but mine comes with a 16mm native bore, and I brought mine from Bunnings, it's still under warranty, but would that be an okay reason to return it and get it replaced and would they give me a replacement

If a Bunnings team member could give me a reason why it is a 16mm bore, that would be great, and also if it's worth returning for a replacement and if they will replace it

I propose speaking to the customer service team of the store where you purchased it from and asking them about an exchange. Please make sure to bring a copy of your docket or a bank statement that indicates when the saw was purchased. If the tool was purchased with a PowerPass account, you should be able to indicate on your account when the saw was purchased.

However, before you decide to bring the saw in, allow me to give a quick summary about arbor size. The arbor is the shaft that centres and supports the blade. A 20mm arbor is larger, providing slightly more support and rigidity, which is why it's commonly used on more powerful or larger circular saws. A 16mm arbor is standard on many compact 165mm cordless saws, including the DeWalt DCS391N-XE, and is perfectly suited to that blade size.

In practice, you won't notice a difference in cutting performance. The main difference is blade compatibility. A 16mm-arbor saw requires 16mm-bore blades, while a 20mm-arbor saw accepts 20mm-bore blades. In Australia, 20mm-bore blades are generally more common and available in a wider range of specialty options, whereas 16mm-bore blades are still readily available but with a smaller selection.

From a practical perspective, both 16mm and 20mm arbor saws perform exactly the same job and, when fitted with a quality blade, deliver comparable cutting performance and accuracy. The larger 20mm arbor provides slightly more support for the blade and is more commonly found on higher-powered or professional saws, while a 16mm arbor is widely used on compact cordless models and is engineered to provide the same level of safety and precision for their intended applications. In everyday use, most people would never notice a difference between the two, as the quality of the blade, the saw's power, and the user's technique have a far greater impact on the final cut than the arbor size itself.

In regard to the 20mm sign, post or packaging, I will investigate further and make sure that any error found will be addressed as soon as possible.
