How to fill hole in laundry floor?

We’re doing some basic renovations in our laundry and have ripped out the old cabinetry including one of the old metal laundry cupboards that seemed to be put in directly on top of poured concrete/mortar. It’s an old 1981 build apartment and I feel like there’s been quite a few shortcuts/unexpected findings in our Reno’s.

We’ve chiselled away all the old uneven mortar mix and are now looking to fill this hole with concrete. The space is 380mm x 540mm x 50mmD. We have a tub of the Westbuild Concrete repair but not really sure if that’s the best option. Not too fussed about finish as we’ll have cabinetry/washing machine going over this space but want to make sure we’re using the right product.

A standard concrete mix would be more suitable and economical for a patch of this size than the concrete repair product. Remove all loose material and dust, then lightly dampen the existing concrete. Apply BondCrete to the old surface according to the product instructions and pour the concrete while the bonding coat is still tacky.

The recess holds approximately 10 litres, so one 20kg bag will be very close; I suggest having a second bag available. Compact the concrete into the edges, screed it level with the surrounding floor and allow it to cure fully before installing the cabinetry or washing machine.

As this is an apartment laundry, you should also check whether the patch affects any existing waterproofing or requires body corporate approval.
