Floor mounted vanity or wall mounted vanity?

Question

My builder has told me I must have a floor mounted vanity "because of the plumbing" but other advice has said that if if you have a concrete wall strong enough to hold the vanity, and if you have a wall mounted outlet, you can can have a wall mounted vanity. In the pic below, it seems to me the outlet is located in the wall to the left, and the mixer pipes to the right so there seems to be no reason i can't have a all mounted vanity. Is this a reasonable assumption or am I off base here?

This would be a question best posed to your builder, as I trust they’ll be able to provide more detail on why a wall-mounted vanity won’t work in that particular area.

It might be less about a wall-mounted vanity being physically impossible due to the plumbing and more about what has been specified and approved in the plans. A wall-mounted vanity is certainly possible in many situations, but changing from the planned floor-mounted vanity could involve additional work and costs.

Depending on the vanity you select, the existing pipework might not be suitably positioned and could require relocation by a plumber. You may also need to account for additional tiling where the floor-mounted vanity would have covered the floor, the additional cost of the wall-mounted vanity itself, and any extra work required to provide suitable support and securely mount it to the wall.

As @R4addZ has mentioned, ultimately your builder will be the one who needs to organise the installation, so I’d recommend discussing your preferred wall-mounted option with them and asking what specifically about the existing plumbing prevents it from being installed. They should then be able to explain what would need to be changed, if anything, to make a wall-mounted vanity possible.

Seems to me, you are right. However, Your builder holds all the cards here. I am assuming this is a new build and they are the ones who know the regulations they are working to and whilst you don't think so, it isn't your house till they hand it over, it is their building site! You agreed to the plans and if you want to change them, the builder needs to agree to a variation which could include costs and penalties.

All you can do is speak to your builder or change it after hand over.
