How to use Glitz Calcium Scale And Rust Remover to remove toilet bowl stains?

I am using Glitz Calcium Scale And Rust Remover to remove the dark stains at the bottom of the toilet bowl.

Yesterday was my first try. I did not remove the standing water. Just pour the solution into the toilet bowl, let it soak for about 7 hours, brushed and flushed. The result was not great. Only 5-10% of the dark stain was removed.

Today is my 2nd try. I scooped out all the standing water completely, poured the undiluted solution into the toilet bowl. About 7 hours later, only 5% of the dark stain has been resolved. See picture.

What should I do next,

add more solution?

Wait longer?

How long is it safe to leave the solution in there without damaging the seal and the pipe?

I'm afraid the stain is too heavily anchored to the side of the toilet drain. This often happens when limescale is left too long and rust begins to imbed itself into the lime surface. The Glitz cleaning product is not strong enough to remove this hardened rust and lime scale combo. I suggest engaging the services of a professional toilet bowl cleaning service. They will have the knowledge and experience to remove the rust/limescale combo without damaging the porcelain finish.

I've had a look at the back of the Glitz container, and it does not provide any instructions in regard to long term immersion. However, I don't recommend using it repeatedly for long term immersion as it might have a negative effect on your plumbing.
