What adhesive do I use to secure shower tray?

I will be starting a bathroom and wardrobe reno soon and was given a tile underlay by a friend for a walk in shower My question is what adhesive do i use to to fit it

Thanks for your reply. Just for interest found maker of tray timber floor so  extra support along four edges and around

drain hole and use polyurethane adhesive to glue down underlay to the floor.

You’ll need to confirm the installation requirements with the manufacturer of the shower tray, as the specified adhesive and installation method can vary between products. You may have to have a chat with your friend to confirm where they got the shower tray, then reach out to the manufacturer for their advice.

That said, it’s relatively standard for shower bases and trays to be installed onto a mortar bed, with the product fully supported rather than simply spot-fixed.

The exact adhesive, bed thickness and waterproofing requirements should follow the manufacturer’s instructions, particularly as this will form part of a wet-area installation.

If you are unable to find the information from the manufacturer, your best bet would be to speak with a plumber as they will need to be involved with the installation of the pipework and they should have experience installing similar shower trays.
