How to fix hole in polished concrete slab?

Hi all,

What is the best way to fix a small hole in our polished concrete. The slab is ~12 years old, and includes pebbles and recycled glass in it. The damage is fairly small (4cm long max) but needs fixing. I have attached photos.

Can I re-attach the bit that came loose or am I better off filling in the entire hole?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your concrete slab.

I propose filling the damaged section with mortar instead of reattaching the broken piece back into the hole. This will give you a nice solid patch on the slab that will not move or tilt out of balance. You can then paint or seal the patch with a gloss sealer or clear coat. The drawback of course is that it will not have the same finish as your current polished slab.

Another option is to get a professional slab restoration specialist to repair the damage. They will have the knowledge and equipment to do a proper patch.
