When I turn on the washing machine water connection, I notice that water is dripping from the tap, as shown in the attached photo.
Do you have any suggestions on what might be causing the leak? Do I need to replace the tap?

I suspect that either the O ring of the hose has deteriorated or given way or the orange end of the hose housing has split open and is allowing water to leak out. My first suggestion is to replace the rubber O ring in the hose and reduce the amount of plumbing tape being used on the tap. The hose end is supposed to travel all the way up to the mouth of the tap forming a tight seal. Any gap between those two surfaces will cause a leak.
If after replacing the O ring and water still leaks out, it's highly probable that the hose needs to be replaced. However, if after replacing the hose and it still continues to leak, I suggest engaging the services of a licensed plumber to investigate the leak.

My apologies for the miscommunication. It appears that the leak is coming from your spindle. I suspect that the body O rings will need to be replaced. I suggest having a quick look at this guide - How to replace a tap washer, specifically step 5. You'll see how the O rings can be replaced. However, if after replacing the O rings and it still continues to leak, I suggest engaging the services of a plumber to replace your tap.
