The project:
A storage room transformed into a bedroom with storage.
We are renovating our entire 1975 double storey brick home, stage by stage.
Apart from the professional stuff we’ve done it all on our own outside of work hours. We took roughly three to four weeks to complete this project, spending long nights and weekends getting it done.
We're leaning into vibrant colours in dusty, muted shades that really change your mood when you enter the room. To see the vision turn out exactly how we wanted was amazing.
- Materials:
- Kaboodle cabinetry
- Plasterboard
- Taubmans undercoat
- Dulux paint
- 70x45 studs
- Hag11 door.
- Tools:
- Ryobi nail gun
- Ryobi circular saw
- Ryobi sander
- Ryobi hammer drill
- Ryobi impact drill
- Ryobi jigsaw
- Ryobi reciprocating saw
- Spray gun.
- Step 1:
Remove everything old out from the room. Rip tiles and flooring up.
- Step 2:
Measuring and re-fitting walls and downlights installed.
- Step 3:
Hanging plaster and setting, then adding the skirting.
- Step 4:
Priming all the walls and ceilings.
- Step 5:
Measuring for the cabinetry, then building a frame for it.
- Step 6:
Installing the cabinetry and then using the cabinet primer to prime as we wanted to colour drench the entire room.
- Step 7:
Paint.
- Step 8:
Carpet installed and door hung.
