How to build bifold doors?

Hello dear community

I am in the process of replacing the internal doors. Six in total. I want one of them to be bifold. However, I can only find two face designs which none of them match the design we want for the others. Do you know if it is common make a standard door bifold without ruin it? Any other options?

The issue with converting a standard door to a bifold one is that a standard hollowcore door is constructed using a relatively thin timber frame around the perimeter of the door, with MDF face sheets and a honeycomb core. If you were to cut it down the middle, you would cut through this frame and there would be no framing on the inside of the door.

If you were to use a solid door, the weight of the doors would almost certainly cause issues.

Any of these doors can be special ordered to size and delivered to your local store, you'll just have to speak with the Special Orders team at your local store to arrange this.
