Why, when the clear opening dimension of a standard patio flyscreen door is 2000mm, is the mesh of the same length?
There is not enough length!
I can of course buy a 6m roll, but that would only do two doors, with heaps of waste.
Hi @PeterFarmer,
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It is wonderful to have you with us.
Typically, doors are around the 2040mm height, with screen doors being a little bit shorter, like this https://www.bunnings.com.au/protectoral-813-x-2032-x-19mm-black-diamond-grille-metric-hinged-aluminium-screen-door_p2036330 . If you factor in the thickness of the frame around the screen door, the 2m of material is enough for a standard screen door. This is why they are sized at 2m.
I understand your frustration if this is not the case with your doors, however 2m is typically enough for a standard door.
The Cyclone Pet Mesh is supplied in set roll sizes, and unfortunately we don't have any control over the dimensions that the manufacturer chooses to produce. In this situation, the larger roll may be the only suitable option if you would like to use this particular mesh.
I'll certainly pass your feedback regarding the roll sizing on to the relevant team.

Hello Jacob,
Thanks for your reply.
My patio screen doors are 2150 overall high, with a clear opening of 2000. The mesh is slightly longer at 2040 (approx), but 20mm for each end is just not enough.
They are a pretty standard size door as far as I know.
May I suggest Bunnings talk to Cyclone to see if they can make each nominal 2000 roll be at least 2100 long?
Thanks again,
Peter
We certainly will pass on that feedback and request @PeterFarmer. For the benefit of others coming across this discussion, here is a helpful guide: How to replace flyscreen mesh.
