Was wondering if I could get some ideas on what to plant or how to design small sideyards? Was thinking of doing some garden beds and put some flowering plants maybe? Can’t seem to find many ideas online.

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us and thanks for sharing your question about your small side yards.
An effective way to use the space in your yard is to install hanging gardens and building a raised garden bed. You have the choice of planting ornamental or vegetable plants in the area. But a great deal of it will depend on the amount of sunlight that comes into that area. A minimum of six hours of sunlight would be ideal to get vegetables growing in that spot, any less and you might not get an ideal harvest.

I've placed some sample images below using AI to give you an idea of how you can layout the garden in your available space. The planting shown in the concept image was intended to represent common plants and vegetables you can typically find through Bunnings, although exact varieties will vary by store and season.
For this particular wall, petunias, calibrachoa, lobelia, bacopa and scaevola would give you the colourful cascading appearance shown in the image.

@harlyr as already mentioned, sunlight will drastically influence what does and doesnt work in that area. You will also need to be mindful that whilst you may be getting sunlight through the warmer seasons, it may not see much during winter.
Decide on how you want to use the space, its size and overal style, if you have any specific plants/design elements you want incorporated and use chatgpt to create some renders to help visualise it.
