How to remove rust from a chainsaw part?

Hi, I had my Chainsaw apart whilst I got the chain sharpened but stupidly left it on the floor at the same time as we got a heap of mice invade the shed. They basically used it as a urinal & now it's rusty. Can I fix it or do I need to get a spare part from Ryobi? Cheers Barry

Thanks for sharing your question about your chainsaw. In the interest of health and safety, I suggest getting a brand-new spare part as this might be a critical internal part of the chainsaw. It appears to have developed mid-level rust damage, and it may have compromised its integrity. I suggest calling the Bunnings spare parts team on 1800 772 737 where they will be able to ask your more in-depth questions about your chain saw.
