Recently had meter changed and noticed dip in pavers around plastic water meter box , SA water have already said , "no way not us " so looking to repair myself
Hi @Mozza41,
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It is fantastic to have you with us.
I should start by noting that plumbing work must be carried out by a licenced plumber for safety and compliance purposes.
Unfortunately, I don't think this is something you can resolve by simply lifting and relaying the surrounding pavers.
The subsidence around the water meter suggests that the ground beneath the area has settled or been disturbed. If you were to lift the pavers, add and compact additional base material and then relay them at the correct level, the meter and its enclosure would remain at their existing height and could end up significantly below the finished paving level.
To correct the area properly, I would recommend contacting your local water authority or a licensed plumber. The meter and enclosure would likely need to be assessed and, if appropriate, raised so the lid finishes flush with the surrounding paving. They can also check whether there is an underlying issue, such as a leak, that has contributed to the subsidence.
Once the meter and enclosure have been correctly positioned, the surrounding paving could then be reinstated by yourself reasonably easily by simply lifting them, cleaning up the substrate, adding road base, then compacting it and relaying the pavers.
Let me know what you think and if you have further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
