How to install garden irrigation and timer?

hi teams,

I am planning to install an  automatic irrigation with grass area pop up Spinkler and both sides 50 cm wide plants 3 mtr length and 2 mtr length with small splinter. I have one my yard and noted it is ok for spread plants area.i am not sure the name of that one. I am attaching pictures. Total pipe length 50 MTR. Please advise me with all fittings.orbit timer and 19 mm pipe prefer. Which is best?

Thank you for sharing your question about your garden irrigation. I propose having an in-depth look at this guide - How to install a drip irrigation watering system by @Adam_W. This will give you the basics of determining how much water pressure is coming out of your tap. Although it talks about drip irrigation, the basic principles it talks about can be applied to pop-up sprinkler systems. This will determine how many pop-up sprinklers you can install and if you need a split system if you don't have enough water pressure to run the system.

I would suggest using a 19mm Poly pipe hose, it allows more water flow than the smaller diameter pipes and does not limit your water flow should you wish to upgrade your fittings. In regard to the existing system that you have I would suggest doing an investigation as to what Poly pipe size its using and how far does it extend into your garden.

The answer to your queries will greatly depend on the water pressure coming out of your tap. Once you do your pressure tap test, you can begin to plan in greater detail the number of sprinklers you'll need and where to ideally position them in your garden. Once you've done your test, please let us know the results and we can provide you with more detailed advice.
