How to fix or replace shower head?

Hey all,

My shower head has been falling down during the day. I've tried tightening it by hand but the whole head just moves as if maybe it's fused together. Is there anyway to fix this or should I just buy a new one?

If I need to buy a new one, is the a plumbers job? Will I have to turn the water off at the mains or is at the tap fine.

Sometimes it is just a worn-out washer that is causing it to fail.

Any changes that involve moving or reconfiguring pipework would be considered regulated plumbing work and would need to be carried out by a licensed plumber.
