Hi guys, I need some help/advice regarding a leaking pipe connected to the hot water system.
Our kitchen was recently stripped out by the tradies, including an old hot water tank that was sitting in the corner. There was some residual water leaking into the apartment below, and the plumber said it was just leftover water from the old tank.
However, after the new tank was installed, the pipe started leaking again. This time, the water didn’t go through to the apartment below but instead leaked into the cabinet and onto the floor in our own apartment.
The leak seems to be coming from the brass fitting in the left hand side of pipe, and when the water supply is turned off, the leaking stops.
I’m wondering if this is something relatively easy for a plumber to fix, or whether we should notify Strata because the pipe may need to be replaced. Has anyone had a similar issue or know whether this would normally be a Strata responsibility?
