How to fix split in black poly pipe reticulation?

hello all, could you assist me to fix  my 25mm black reticulation poly pipe? I noticed a hole in the ground and dug around and found the reticulation has a split around an inch. I have tried putting tape on it, but it still is leaking. What should I do to replace the poly pipe section that has the split? Thank you for your advise.

My apologies, I should have asked you in which direction the split was running in! To follow up on my suggested solution, I recommend getting a Holman 25mm x 1m Drip Irrigation Tube and adding an extra Pope 25mm Barbed Joiner and two more Pope 25mm Single Poly Ratchet Clamp. You can then remove (cut) the broken section of the pipe and replace it with the new fresh section (cut to your needed length). The barb joiners will go on either end, then you can use the clamps to secure them in place. I hope that clarifies the repair steps.
