Two years ago, I planted a hibiscus plant in the ground, and it grew beautifully until about 3 or 4 months ago. Around 3 months back, I noticed the leaves turning yellow and dropping off. Now, it has completely defoliated. While the branches look dry on the outside, one branch still has some green on top, and performing a scratch test on the other branches reveals healthy green wood underneath. I am attaching some photographs of its current state and would appreciate any advice on how to successfully revive it.
